School Uniform

The Uniform of Chiddingstone School


We believe that everyone who works in our school, both children and adults, should look smart and take a pride in their appearance. Children need to wear the school uniform.


Winter Uniform must be worn from the day of the Harvest Festival Service but may be worn before this date.

Summer Uniform must be worn after the Easter Holidays.




  • Tartan skirt or pinafore dress*
  • Grey trousers*
  • White shirt or revere collar blouse
  • School tie* (if not wearing skirt / pinafore)
  • School jumper* or school cardigan *
  • White / grey socks, or red / grey tights.
  • Conventional black school shoes
  • Trainers are not to be worn in school.

  • White polo shirt with school logo*

Outer Wear

  • Black Coat*
  • Winter: Grey school hat (£4.50), grey school scarf (£4.50), grey school gloves (£3.50)
  • Summer: red school baseball cap (£4.50)


(Priced items are available for purchase from the school office and paid for on Arbor).

PE Kit

  • School red t-shirt*,
  • Red school sweat shirt top*. 
  • Black shorts / skort,
  • Black tracksuit bottoms,
  • Trainers (not plimsolls),
  • White socks. 
  • Chiddingstone School training top, compulsory in KS2/optional in KS1, available from School Office (KS1-£20 KS2-£25)   
  • A drawstring PE bag clearly named on the outside. 
  • Football boots for KS2 as required. 
  • In addition, a house PE t-shirt is required for some inter-house sports events – priced £3 from the school office.

All uniform should be clearly named either by name tape or indelible marking pen.


In the interests of health & safety and security, children should not wear any jewellery, with the exception of a wrist watch.  Earrings are not permitted in school.



Items marked* are available from Horncastles in Sevenoaks (next door to Waitrose) and are compulsory. All other items, apart from those indicated for purchase from the school, are available either from Horncastles or any of the main chain stores – eg John Lewis, Next, M&S.
