Chiddingstone Church of England School
Going Above and Beyond Together
Chiddingstone School, through the Covenanting Fund, is appealing to everyone in the school community to make a modest, regular monthly gift: parents, staff, governors, old pupils and their families, local businesses and any other friends. It is not the level of generosity, but the participation that is the key.
To offer the high quality and unique, all-round education provision that exists at Chiddingstone School, we are increasingly dependent on alternative income streams, of which donations and fundraising are central.
We depend on the generosity of our parents and other members of our school community to help fund proposals by parents, staff and pupils for developments such as: improved outdoor provision; ICT provision programme; sports/PE specialist provision and modern foreign languages. Parents and members of the community are encouraged to support the school by regular covenanting.
The value of covenanting from UK tax payers, increases by 25% at no extra cost to the donor through the Gift Aid scheme. For example, a donation of £10 per month would be worth £150 per year to the school, including the Gift Aid. If each family donated this amount, the children would benefit from at least £20,000 per year.
There is also “Give as you Earn”- which means the school get more of your donation via your employer and it costs the donor less. https://www.cafonline.org/giving-as-a-company/engaging-employees/caf-give-as-you-earn
Given the pressures on funding, regular covenanting to the Covenanting Fund is vital. It provides a guaranteed form of income for our school, thus enabling us to plan for longer term commitments and to continue to offer the many "extras" that Chiddingstone School has always historically been able to provide for our children.
