Please take a look at the EYFS section under the Curriculum tab of this website. Here you will find information about our curriculum and photos of our classroom and outdoor area.
We hold a number of Open Mornings in the academic year before your child would be starting school. These are detailed on the school website.
Once offers for Reception places are made in April, we send out a welcome letter with information and details of the events and activities that we have put in place to help you and your child through the process of starting school. Once you have accepted the place we send out a welcome pack including admission forms.
Our first event is a coffee morning and curriculum presentation sometime in June. This is for parents only and is an opportunity for you to meet the chair of governors, headteacher, class teachers, inclusion lead, other parents and members of the PTA.
In June / July, we organise a number of activities to ease the transition to school:
We also arrange individual parent/carer consultation meetings in September. This is a chance for you to ask any questions and help us to get to know your child in more detail. We can organise home visits for children who maybe finding settling into school more challenging.
Information on start dates, part time options, school uniform and the PTA are also included in the Welcome Packs.
Helping your child be ready for school
Starting "big school" is an exciting time. However, we understand that it is a big step for children and their families and the attached documents are useful in helping you support your child to be school ready.
The link below provides very useful information on expectations for children starting in Reception Class. It has been put together by a number of organisations. It sets out the personal, social, emotional and physical skills that most children will develop by the time they start school and has been created to help parents, caregivers, and the early years professionals involved in looking after young children get them ready to start school.
