School Trips and Enrichment Activities

As part of each child’s education at Chiddingstone, they will participate in a wide range of curriculum led enrichment activities throughout their school life.  Some of these will be in the form of workshops in school provided by companies such as The Royal Observatory, the Science Museum and Steps in Time.  Each day we have enrichment activities based on the creative curriculum such as cookery, ICT, Spanish, gardening, art, music and sewing, provided by the teaching staff and parent volunteers.  We also organise intensive swimming lessons for each year group for 1 week every year at Tonbridge School’s wonderful pool facilities.

Each term, most year groups will have a trip away from school with the opportunity for residential and foreign trips as the children progress through Key Stage 2.

Examples of these are:

  • Port Lympne
  • Lingfield Wildlife Centre
  • Bough Beech Reservoir
  • Bore Place
  • Chislehurst Caves
  • The V&A museum
  • The National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery
  • The Science Museum
  • Hampton Court
  • Annual trips to a West End Show such as “Elf the Musical” and “Aladdin”
  • Camping trips to Broomlands Farm
  • Residential trips to the PGL centre at Windmill Hill
  • Foreign residential trips to Barcelona and Seville for Years 5 and 6
