Chiddingstone School’s Parent Teacher Association is an active group which aims to enhance the education of the children by arranging social occasions and by providing financial support through fund-raising events. It is run for the benefit of our children and future generations of children at Chiddingstone and we cannot say enough about how invaluable this support is to keep our school running in the unique way it does.
Last year was another busy and successful year for the PTA. Our main event was the Maharaja's Ball which was amazing and enjoyed by all. It was even used as an example in the national PTA magazine. Monies raised from last year have gone towards leasing a second minibus for the school so that almost a whole class can be transported without having to rely on lots of parents driving.
This year we have the Great Gatsby Ball in March, another school disco and a quiz night. We have already enjoyed the Christmas Fair, Nativity play and Carol Concert, helped along by mulled wine.
We are hoping to fund a new area of astroturf so that the Quiet Area can be used in all weather, not just the dry months. In addition we have plans to resurface and paint the school playground. We are also funding some new benches for the community garden so that the children have some additional seating outside during break and lunchtimes.
