"The child has,
A hundred hands,
A hundred thoughts,
A hundred ways of thinking,
Of playing, of speaking."
Loris Malaguzzi Reggio Approach
Our curriculum is uniquely tailored to the children we teach, and aims to inspire and feed their imaginations, enabling them to realise their potential and become life-long learners, encouraging a thirst for knowledge with a firm foundation of the basic skills of literacy and numeracy in a supportive environment.
Whilst the National Curriculum is followed, the freedom to offer breadth is fully embraced. The children enjoy a child initiated, creative, topic led curriculum which allows for a meaningful cross curricular approach to learning. Maths, English, RE, PE and Spanish continue to be taught discretely alongside the new Imaginative Learning Projects allowing us to provide high quality teaching with outstanding outcomes.
Outdoor learning is an integral part of our curriculum, particularly supporting boys’ literacy, but also providing children with fun, engaging learning experiences which may create life-long interests.
Classroom-based learning is enhanced by opportunities to 'learn by doing' either by inviting professionals to the school to run workshops, such as authors, artists, museum outreach teams or sports men and women; or by going on trips to places of interest, including London-based museums and galleries. Children in KS2 also enjoy residential trips to destinations such as Alfriston, Sayers Croft, The Brecon Beacons, Barcelona and Seville.
